UPDATE: AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE TRANSITION DEADLINES OF ISO 22301:2019 ARE EXTENDED BY 6 MONTHS TO 30 APRIL 2023

HOW THE TRANSITION WILL EVOLVE

Published in October 2019, the new ISO 22301: 2019 standard will replace the previous edition of 2012. For companies certified already under the previous edition of the standard, IAF (International Accreditation Forum – www.iaf.nu) has agreed to a transition period of 3 years and 6 months (6 months will be extended the transition deadlines as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic) from the date of publication of the standard. After 30 April 2023 all certificates issued under ISO 22301:2012 will be more valid.

DURATION OF THE TRANSITION PERIOD***

There will be a transition period of 3 years and 6 months starting from the date of publication of the standard (October 2019). During this period it will be possible to conduct an audit to comply with the new edition.

Validity of previous edition

Certificates issued under ISO 22301:2019 will be valid until the end of the transition period April 30, 2023.

WHAT COMPANIES SHOULD DO

The transition to the new standard can be made during maintenance or renewal audits already scheduled by assessing the adequacy of the currently anticipated time (at least half an added Audi day). AQSCERT has provided its clients with detailed information on the duration and methods of auditing the transition. From May 1, 2021, renovation audits should be conducted using the new version of the standard. https://www.aqscert.org/test/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/ISO-22301-2019-Transition-Guidance-for-Clients.pdf
